Each of these latest releases is produced from a vineyard that we planted decades ago. The aim then (as now) was to grow fruit to make the best wines possible. Odd-shaped vineyards, impractical (albeit beautiful) locations, were positioned in higher altitude (cooler) sites with the desired mix of soil, rock and aspect.
This vintage, those vineyards produced the most pristine fruit that we have seen. We put this and the fruit’s intense flavours down to the cool conditions early (the riesling fruit was hand harvested before hotter weather in March) and the impact of biodynamic farming.
